Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She specialised in Pathological Anatomy at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.

She is currently head of Pathology at Dibi, a public network of integrated biomedical diagnostic and imaging services for hospital and medical centres, and emeritus head of Pathology at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona.

She was president of the Spanish Society of Cytology (SEC).

She is a fellow of the International Academy of Cytology (IAC) and a member of the European Society of Pathology (ESP), the SEC, the Spanish Society of Pathological Anatomy (SEAP) and the Catalan Society of Pathological Anatomy (SCAP).

She has published 118 indexed papers in national and international journals.
